These triangular pennants were introduced in December 1935 and up until 1938 were flown on Luftwaffe Officer’s official or personal vehicles, when the Officer was uniformed and in the vehicle. Later, regulations changed to allow all Luftwaffe personnel (regardless of rank) to display the pennant on the left front bumper of vehicles provided that they were being driven by uniformed personnel.
These pennants are embroidered in light grey with the Luftwaffe eagle which measures approximately 16 cm between wingtips. The flag itself is made of thick cotton in Luftwaffe blue/ grey. Each flag measures approximately 13 inches long and features the standard metal frame for rigidity.
